I chose to do my 2 in 1 project in pencil because that is one of my favorite mediums to work with.
My 2 in 1 piece contains a cockpit view of a WWI fighter looking at a WWII B-17 bomber. I started off by creating the cockpit and wings, then I created the bomber in the distance, next I added the joystick, machine guns, pedals, and dials before I finished it by adding value.

My Mentor was Stevie.
She does mostly traditional art but sometimes does digital. Her Blog link is as follows: steviewyche.weebly.com I will benefit from a mentor because they are someone to get critiques from and go to for help or an idea. I want to gain a better understanding of how to become a better artist from my mentor. Pen: Pros- Fun to use. Cons- Cant erase.
Charcoal: Pros- Very good for shading. Cons- Very messy. Pencil: Pros- Fun and can be erased. Cons- Can be very bland. Composition: a work of music, literature, or art.
Value: the relative lightness or darkness of a color. The pen cubes were the most useful warmup for me because they allowed me to practice value and lighting with my pen before I started my final draft.
Edward Hopper is my inspiring artist because his paintings look very cool and his story is very intriguing. He Lived in New York and worked with Oil on Canvas. His works are inspiring me because they show a scene that you can make your own interpretation of. He leaves the meaning of the piece up to the viewer where they can relate it to their own life or make up their own story about it.
